- Start from the p5.js starter, not a blank sketch.
- Playable end to end: start screen, play, game over.
- Ghost or Halloween-themed, with 1-3 upgrades of your own.
- Submit a working share link before the showcase.

Is Hack Club real? Is this legit?
Yup! Hack Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has run programs like High Seas, Summer of Making, and Horizons for thousands of teenagers.
What is Hack Club?
A global community of teenagers who code, with clubs at schools around the world and an online community on Slack.
Who can participate?
Anyone 18 or under, at any skill level.
I've never coded before. Can I still join?
Yes! The guide assumes you've never used p5.js and walks you from a blank canvas to a finished game.
Do I need a club to take part?
No. Build it on your own and send it in through individual submissions, or run a workshop at your club.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Everything runs in the p5.js Web Editor in your browser.
Can I use AI?
For unblocking a single line, sure. Not for writing your game or your upgrades: the point is that you built the thing you're showing off.
How do I get candy?
At a club meeting, your club leader hands it out at the showcase. On your own, submit your game and we'll get you candy once it's reviewed.
Is it safe? What if my parents have questions?
Hack Club takes safety seriously: read the safeguarding policy. For anything else, ask on the Hack Club Slack.
